Pharmacogenetics DNA Test – Discover How Your Body Responds to 150+ Medicines

Package Options

Ever wondered why some medicines work for others but not for you? The Pharmacogenetics DNA Test analyses how your genetic makeup affects your response to over 150 medications, including painkillers, antidepressants, and heart drugs. Using a simple mouth swab, this test can help you and your doctor choose safer, more effective treatments based on your DNA.

Analyses how your DNA affects drug response, metabolism & side effects
Covers over 150 medicines across mental health, pain, cardiology & more
Receive personalised dietary, supplement and lifestyle recommendations from our expert team.

This Pharmacogenetics (PGx) DNA test is ideal for patients looking to check if certain medications suit their genetics.

Find out valuable information such as which pain medication suits your body best and if it is likely a certain class of drugs will cause you to experience adverse side effects.

Medications and doses that work for one person may not work well, or cause undesirable side effects for another. Minimise the ‘trial and error’ and find the medication that is right for you.

The Pharmacogenetics test analyses variations in genes for over 150 drug combinations over a range of therapeutic areas that include mental health, pain, and cardiology. All recommendations are based on high quality evidence from key regulatory bodies and expert consortia in pharmacogenetics.

If you wish to purchase multiple tests for people in the same household please add quantity as 1 for each test so that individual patient forms can be completed. You can keep adding multiple tests to the same basket as long as patients reside at the same address. For multiple tests for the same patient you only need to complete the patient form once.  Test suitable from any age.

Frequently asked question

DNA tests are not that easy to interpret unless you have genetics training, therefore our team reviews each report and compares this against the personal information you have provided at checkout regarding your current health, diet and supplement / medicine intake. All patients will receive a lab report.

All lab reports include:

personalised, colour coded genotype results
gene function and SNP impact descriptions
clinically relevant SNPs
nutrient and other epigenetic impacts
links to research evidence
In addition to your lab report we provide the following options which are INCLUDED in your original price:

A) Follow up 30 minute video call to discuss your results and answer any questions you have. Once the labs have completed your DNA results you will be sent a link to book a time and day online. Advice will be given on supplements and lifestyle support. After your call you are sent a short email with supplements your practitioner advises with links to purchase.

OR

B) Follow up written report explaining your variants and highlighting dietary and lifestyle advice and links to supplement suggestions included. We do not provide an example of this report as it is personalised to each patient but it usually runs to 3 pages of detailed actionable advice.

Pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing is performed using a safe and non-invasive buccal cheek swab collection kit. The ultimate goal of PGx testing is to minimise the risk of adverse reactions and aid in the prediction of drug effectiveness on an individual level.

The test analyses variations in genes for over 150 drugs (or drug combinations) over a range of therapeutic areas that include mental health, pain, and cardiology. All recommendations are based on high-quality evidence from key regulatory bodies and expert consortia in pharmacogenetics.

The results of the PGx test allow healthcare providers to have a more tailored approach which can reduce trial-and-error in prescribing and minimise the risk of adverse drug reactions.

Research suggests that up to 80% of variability in drug efficacy and safety could be accounted for by genetic factors. The PGx test results are relevant over the course of a lifetime by predicting drug effectiveness and can be used as a tool to guide medication use for healthcare practitioners.

Body Fabulous does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or medical treatment. Factors such as age, diet, ethnicity, family health history, and/or personal health not related to genetics can also impact the likelihood of developing certain conditions or exhibiting certain drug reactions.

Therefore, individuals may not always exhibit the drug response expected or consistent with their genetic test results. The test results are based upon probabilities of either increased toxicity or decreased effectiveness of a given drug.

Based on testing results, individuals should make no changes to medical care including, but not limited to, changes in dosage or frequency of medication without the advice of and consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
