Heavy metal poisoning occurs when the body’s soft tissues absorb excessive amounts of certain metals. Exposure can happen through various sources, including contaminated food, air or water pollution, industrial environments, certain medications, food containers with improper coatings, or old lead-based paints.

Common symptoms of heavy metal toxicity—regardless of the specific metal—may include diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, shortness of breath, tingling sensations in the hands and feet, chills, and persistent weakness. If you've experienced any of these symptoms over a prolonged period and conventional medical tests have not provided clear answers, it may be worth considering heavy metal testing via urine or hair sample.

Toxicity can present as either acute or chronic. Long-term exposure may lead to progressive muscular, physical, and neurological degeneration, mimicking conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and Alzheimer’s disease.

This laboratory report will detail your levels of key heavy metals and provide personalised recommendations for correcting imbalances. Testing is performed by Doctor’s Data Inc., a highly regarded laboratory based in the USA.

Your test kit is shipped from the UK within 24–48 hours of ordering, and you should receive it within a few days via DHL. You can easily arrange free collection of your sample through DHL. For international orders, we ship via DHL or FedEx and include return labels for your convenience.

Turnaround time for results is approximately 2 weeks. For the best value, we recommend ordering both toxic metals and essential elements tests together.

Patient Instructions:

Avoid consuming fish and shellfish for 5 to 7 days before collecting your urine sample, as they can temporarily increase the excretion of certain metals.

Refrain from taking mineral-containing supplements for 24 hours before sample collection.

Collect urine over approximately 6 hours, or provide an early morning sample. Once your test kit arrives, we recommend selecting Option A on your sample form.
